I have always been someone who has embraced changes in my life. Embracing change and being good at changing do not necessarily go hand in hand. I particularly enjoy advancements in technology and systems. Sadly, I do not feel that advancements in food processing technology have made us healthier. I feel that way about newer homes being developed today. What used to take a year to build can be thrown together in a matter of months. Though I welcome advancement in tools and building components, it’s clear that just like food processing companies that mass-produce food for our eating enjoyment…that same approach to home building hasn’t made us healthier. There are things in life that when possible are best left to be improved…not destroyed and replaced.
I choose to restore...cleanse...remedy. I choose to take the functionally obsolete and make it functional, healthy…and beautiful. I take great pride in choosing which properties I think warrant being a “Five Star Property”.
I believe integrity is one of the key components to building the finest homes. It means doing what is right even when no one is watching. I truly care about the individuals, couples and families who will live in my homes. It drives me to restore in unique ways…ways that allow you to sleep, breathe and feel better in the sanctuary that you spend about 80% of your time in…your home.
There are homes today designated as being green. I believe there is nothing green about using valuable resources to tear down and rebuild perfectly good structures. How green is it to tear down good homes that are too small when additions can be added and exteriors transformed. Even more wonderful is the feeling I have knowing that while our team is creating the finest home with the best value, I am preserving history rather than destroying it and saving valuable resources rather than using more. The homes we develop are breathtaking when finished. I will continue to incorporate even more “green” into my works in all areas of building materials, energy efficiencies and indoor air quality.
